I’m Ahmed Almadhoun. I study how transport networks connect people, businesses and opportunity—and what happens when those connections fall short.
A connection on a map
is only the beginning.
01 / A LITTLE CONTEXT
ENGINEERING QUESTIONS. REAL-WORLD CONSEQUENCES.Research asks better questions.
Experience keeps them grounded.
I’m a transport engineer and doctoral researcher exploring freight accessibility, infrastructure constraints and economic connectivity.
At Warsaw University of Technology, I combine transport modelling with engineering analysis to understand where freight systems fall short—and how to evaluate improvements.
Explore publications & conference contributions ↗I bring an engineering approach to analysis, operational delivery and clear communication.
Alongside research and university teaching, my experience at Accenture covers accounts receivable, reporting, escalations, month-end support and training colleagues. I’m comfortable moving between detailed analysis and the people who need to use it.

02 / THE RESEARCH
MAKING THE INVISIBLE VISIBLEA business may be connected to the road network and still struggle to receive goods reliably or affordably. That gap is the starting point for my doctoral work.
How can freight disadvantage be measured and reduced through engineering analysis?
Explore three questions behind a freight connection.
Road geometry, pavement condition or service gaps can make a connection harder to use. My research examines how these constraints should be represented in freight accessibility measures.
Conceptual illustration. These views explain research questions; they do not show measured or simulated results.
Investigating how mixed traffic affects freight delay and reliability.
VISSIM · CORRIDOR MODELLINGHow does passenger demand affect freight performance on shared urban roads?
An exploratory Modlińska–Elektronowa corridor pilot was presented at LSTP in September 2026.
The awarded WUT grant, “Freight Transport Penalty under Mixed-Traffic Conditions, Including the Context of Undesirable Emissions: A Microsimulation Approach,” supports the next stage of corridor modelling and empirical analysis.
The pilot is not a validated city-wide result.Developing an accessibility-based approach to freight transport poverty.
ACCESSIBILITY · INDICATORSWhat does transport disadvantage mean for freight actors, and how can it be measured defensibly?
Candidate dimensions include network accessibility, logistics-service availability and reliability, and economic accessibility. The formulation remains open to revision.
Compare candidate measures with simpler baselines and test sensitivity, uncertainty and added explanatory value.
Conceptual development and empirical validation are ongoing.Using digital shadowing to investigate the 79th Street corridor in Musaffah.
VISSIM · DIGITAL SHADOWINGModel and calibrate an urban corridor using manually collected peak and off-peak traffic observations, then evaluate congestion and proposed alternatives.
Published in Transportation Research Procedia, volume 93, pages 826–832 (2026), following TRANSCOM 2025.

INFRASTRUCTURE · EIGHT CORRIDORSA preliminary assessment of eight Warsaw freight corridors combines accessibility measures with pavement condition and geometric constraints.
Investigate how engineering quality changes the interpretation of network access and could inform intervention priorities.
Exploratory study; further empirical testing of the proposed indicators is planned.03 / SELECTED WORK
